Welcome to day two of Bag Week! We’re talking bag options and building “bagknowledge.” Please someone, laugh.
Any bag can be a go bag.
When it comes to bags, honestly anything will do. We want to say that right off the bat. In many cases you’ll just be using the bag or bags for a mere few days, God willing. If, however, you’re able to put a few more dollars into your bag investment, seeking out specific bags that fulfill particular strategy, or address particular risks for your geographic region, go for it!
But not necessarily the go bag you need.
When you can level up your bag, do so. A good bag will be more effective at keeping bugs out of your food, help you organize more strategically, and be easier on your body when travelling with if need be.
For instance if rain, flooding, or tropical storms are something you’re more likely to deal with, investing in water proof bags (our dry bag which is large, effective, and comfortable) may be way up on your priority list. Having a light, secondary go bag with heat sources may be prudent if you’re at risk of being snowed in (or out).
Because we are a little bit out of town and are feasibly at risk of being subject to drinkable water issues, we’ve put extra time into having a bag with water purification supplies. (As well as stored water in bulk.)
Watch our video below and see what we’ve done! We’d love to know more about what has worked for you, your favorite bags, or bags that let you down. :(.
There is a lot to say about what makes great go bags and I’ve covered just a fraction here. We invite ideas, corrections, etc. We’ll be answering any questions or comments at the end of this week. Have any? Comment below or reach out at Instagram, Facebook, or Threads.
Remember, you can’t help your community be prepared as well if you’re not prepared. Download our Go Bag checklist and see you tomorrow!
